FOB Smart at 1830 - Saturday
Wow, the highlight of my day came around 1300 when I got into my Kawasaki Mule 4x4 and drove around our 5+ acres, carving through the snow. In some areas I'd estimate drifts of greater than five or even six feet; however, most areas that I drove through were roughly eight inches. Ed "Chicky" Ciccarelli and Craft, our Pashto interpreter, accompanied. I'd say it was a right good time - "checking" snow depths. That lasted about 15 minutes.
The rest of the day included the normal meetings, lack of significant "excitement," lack of significant construction, on or off our FOB, and plenty of snowfall. In fact, it is still snowing right now. Tomorrow is more of the same, although we are very close to seeing the first members of the incoming PRT replacement ream. Emotions are high and most are ready to depart, which is more than understandable.
I am so excited for my own return! Seattle is right around the corner and the anticipation is steadily building. I have completely embraced the pending move and welcome that metropolitan experience. Come on April, May, and finally June!
143, Kaesen.
Good night and good day.
