FOB Smart at 1730 - Thursday
Wow, this week is just flying by. Well, if it weren't for the fact that all weeks run together with no breaks every five, six, or seven days, then the week would be flying by! Anyway, the days of this seven-day period of time are really passing by us quickly. I missions coming up that I am looking forward to - being out in the mix is important for me here, as it allows us to check progress or check on sites sitting dormant during the winter weather.
Thursday nights bring Mongolian-style meals at our DFAC. I do not eat this anymore, but it is a festive affair no doubt. I tend to choose a sandwich and soup or some sensible side. There's no telling what tonight will hold for me, other than the sandwich part. Tonight will also bring Episode 6 of the Game of Thrones here in my office/room. We started it two nights ago. Good series, but they usually are when coming from HBO!
We met with contractors today, mostly on the phones, and accomplished as much as we could. The atmosphere here is now one of packing and preparing to leave and making necessary preparations for the new team to arrive in late February/early March. The excitement is electric and folks are ready to leave. Hell, I am so ready to leave too!
143, Kaesen.
Good night and good day.
