FOB Smart at 1730 - Friday
Today was a day of, among other occurrences, writing project updates, processing project documentation, paying projects, etc. and it certainly wasn't very boring... It was also another day of personal bill payments, reflection, inflection, redirection, and pondering of future selections. I'd rate the day a solid 8 out of 10. What else? I guess the weather is still funny - it has been snowing again since this morning.
With another 68+ days until I depart this country, stop in Dubai, and then begin the long journey home, I am in the best of moods. I am so excited to see my son, and family and friends again. Until then, I look forward an advance party from the incoming team to begin arriving next week. Our spots, where they used to be free of bodies, are now seemingly jammed full of various soldiers, airmen, and civilians from outlying areas. It is nice to see the outgoing team reunite for their long push home. Once the new team arrives, many, many weeks of integration, learning curves, and "feeling out" of the myriad personalities will ensue, just as it did nine months ago. I love it!
Kaesen has another slumber party Friday night (my Saturday morning) that I hear he loves. I understand he has done quite a few of these in his new hometown since his arrival there last June. I cannot wait to have slumber parties of our own in the near future. He says he also wants to camping with his daddy, build houses out of Legos, and use rope swings to fly into rivers and lakes. This all sounds fun to me!
143, Kaesen.
Good night and good day.
