FOB Smart at 1800 - Sunday
Today was free from any significant or even minor event. The routine is so very well established now that we all seem to rise and fall each morning and night like an automatic movement. Nothing seemed out of place today, at least with or for me, and I again feel the same - it was a day of paperwork, catch-up, and good times.
With a new week beginning tomorrow, I am hopeful that good things are on the horizon, for me both here and back home. We have visitors scheduled, we just found out, for this week from Kandahar - USACE personnel making their rounds, and I have missions planned again for later in the week tentatively.
I posted this earlier on Facebook: The snow has become rain here in our fair city of Qalat, Zabul Province, Afghanistan, this afternoon. This morning it looked like more snow was sure to fall. Now the walkways are flooded and myriad rivulets are releasing their swollen bellies. Sweet nectar of life, water is everywhere and our localized forecast includes similar weather of snow and/or rain for the next few days. Who knows, maybe tomorrow we will have a high of 100° or a low of 0°. Regardless, it is sure to surprise, enliven, and enthrall even the most skeptical of crazy weather nonbelievers.
You know me by now, what else can I do but talk about the weather? Even though I always proclaimed growing older that I'd never do such a thing... LOL
143, Kaesen.
Good night and good day.
