AF Day 267

FOB Smart at 1800 - Sunday

With it being Sunday evening here in Afghanistan, Sunday morning is just barely establishing itself back home. Today is Super Bowl Sunday and all across America, as well as even here in Qalat, preparations are underway to watch the big game, snack, and for here anyway, drink copious amounts of non-alcoholic beer. Well minus the beer, it still seems strange that football season is already over with and that spring is just around the corner. Go Patriots! Go Giants!

Today was another chilly day in southern Afghanistan. Not much happens when it is this cold, especially with the ground still covered in snow in many places. Ice is more of a concern now with the recent plummeting temperatures. Come on, I am so ready for spring - and summer!

Kaesen seems to be recovering from his very severe fever he's had over the last several days. I am glad for this, as it is hard to not worry, especially from 10,000 miles away, and to not be able to hold him. Well, not holding him is one of the worst parts of the distance. Anyway, he was seemingly better when we spoke by phone last night.

143, Kaesen.

Good night and good day.
