AF Day 231

Phoenix, Arizona, at 2200 - Saturday

We spent the most wonderful day today with my father and his beautiful Brazilian wife, Viviane, or Vovo to Kaesen. They made the most delicious feijoada, a traditional Saturday afternoon Brazilian feast of black beans, rice, smoked pork meat cuts, a traditional collard greens dish, and a sauce, very similar to our pico de gallo. Man, I tell you this dish was superb and is always superb!

Kaesen and I spent the day playing, packing, playing, packing, and catching up on as much loving as we could imagine. This son of mine is golden. He lights up my life in a way I never dreamed possible. What a lucky man I am to have Kaesen in my life!

Tonight we watched the ball drop in NYC on time, their time on the east coast, and are now all off to bed. Kaesen was out by 2100, then Vovo, and then my father and, finally, me.

I am not looking forward to leaving my son tomorrow. This is always the hard part in my life - leaving and saying goodbye regardless of the length of time between the goodbye and the next hello.

143, Kaesen.

Good night and good day.
