Christmas Day in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at 1100 - Sunday
Christmas Day and all is very well! Kaesen and I rose early today to spy under the Christmas tree to see whether Santa Claus had indeed come and gone - he had! Of course, Kaesen enjoyed opening his many and various gifts brought to him by Santa, Daddy, family, and friends. This special day, for me and for Kaesen I presume, is made special not by the gifts, but by the togetherness, especially for my son and I, of family and friends here in Las Cruces. Nothing warms my heart more than seeing my boy smile, laugh, and I know he is as happy as he can be right this moment.
I wish all of my family and friends a Merry Christmas and may all your dreams be brighter, fuller, and realized today and in the coming year.
I send a special and warm Merry Christmas to my "family" of brothers and sisters serving at FOB Smart, at PRT Zabul, across Afghanistan, and everywhere around the world tonight and today who are graciously serving in honor for the United States and its allies.
143, Kaesen.
Good night and good day.
