Dubai International Airport at 2000 - Thursday
I left Kandahar Airfield (KAF) at approximately 1430, which was an hour and a half late, but all is well anyway. I learned, the hard way, that once you land at Dubai International Airport (DBX), you cannot check into the departure terminal until you have your boarding pass, which is not issued until they open the ticket counters NLT three hours prior to departure. I am waiting in the Terminal 1 staging area at DBX, have had three coffees, two waters, and no beers. I am so ready to get into the main terminal, check out the lounge, shower, and get ready to get ready. No worries though, I am as calm as they come right now!
Traveling throughout the Middle East is certainly an interesting experience. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone, so long as patience and respect reign supreme. I love Arab culture and hope I get more immersion before it is all said and done. I also love the Persian cultures of Afghanistan, including my favorite - the Pashto. As-salamu alaykum, (peace be upon you), y'all!
143, Kaesen.
Good night and good day.
