Phoenix, Arizona, at 1800 - Saturday
I woke up around 1100 today; my son had been up for several hours already. The jet lag has been especially harsh, but I am working through it as best as I can.
I went shopping for some clothing today, primarily because I am going to a party this evening with my old employer, and also because with 50 pounds of weight loss, nothing I own fits me anymore - literally! I also picked up four craft kits for Kaesen, which he loves and is already playing and coloring with this evening. Tomorrow we'll spend more time on these and as each day passes. He loves creating artwork and we love receiving such and hanging it all over the world!
Being home again from Afghanistan, with my son, and enjoying all of the fruits of life here in America has been especially rewarding so far. I am constantly amazed with just how very much we have here versus back in Afghanistan. I am so thankful for everything I have in life, but most of all for my beautiful son. We leave in a few days to go see my brother and other family members in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
143, Kaesen.
Good night and good day.
