FOB Smart at 2200 - Saturday
We enjoyed another normal Saturday here at FOB Smart, complete with multiple missions outside the wire. I cannot think of anything specific to mention other than we encountered, as we always do, many more opportunities for mentoring, teaching, and training our local contractors in the ways of proper construction management, field construction methods, why concrete should be cured properly, why plans and specifications are written in a particular manner and why they should be, and have to be followed precisely. It was another good day interacting with our local "friends."
Tonight we sat around and talked about what we would be, or should be in some cases, doing when we go on our R&Rs. With the countdown for redeployment back home well into the short side, thoughts of returning to life back home seem to be on everyone's mind now. Thoughts of extending my deployment still remain, although the idea of living apart from my son one moment longer never escapes me.
I will be home with my son in less than 12.5 days!
143, Kaesen.
Good night and good day.
