AF Day 317

FOB Smart at 1800 - Monday

I walked the forward operating base many times today, literally as I was observing progress with ongoing construction. I am so happy tonight with the warm weather coming back so strongly in Qalat now. Cherry blossoms fill the air with magnificent sights and smells, our Afghan dining facility also provides delicious aromas, the birds are back and singing, and the work all around me seems to be what I am accustomed to - fast-paced and generally acceptable. It's all good in the neighborhood.

My projects are progressing well, I am reaching a stage of turnover with my team, and life for me here is quickly drawing to a beautiful closing point. Thereafter, Kaesen as he is always on my mind becomes my remaining focal point and that of our upcoming vacation together. After that then comes the return to Fulcrum, the return to Seattle, the new life ahead - talk again about, "Wow!" It is definitely all good in the brotherhood.

Come sweet Tuesday, come to me quickly and bring me more of the same, more of the wonderfully consistent, predictable, unpredictable, and always interesting fun life we call "FOB living!" Seriously though, it is all good. Be well, friends.

143, Kaesen.

Good night and good day.
