FOB Smart at 1845 - Sunday
The weekend's end is near in fact it is already here! Another day is done and my count is down to 20.5 days remaining. We enjoyed warm weather again all day, although the clouds briefly rolled in, and out, earlier this afternoon. We enjoyed BBQ for dinner at the DFAC - pork, funny as it sounds since we are in a non-pork eating land, and chicken. You know, it was a really good day. I had a great conversation with a new friend at lunch today. My hope is that his deployment will pass quickly so he too can return to his family safely and no less worn for the wear and tear of this environment. Be safe, Joel M. from Texas!
More missions are planned for my week ahead, more meetings, which always mean more opportunities for excellence in everything I do here. Several projects of mine are quickly coming to an end as their construction is nearly completed. It will feel good, and a sense of an accomplishment, to formally close them out in my last three weeks here. It is a nice thought to think I can come back here with my son in a couple of decades and possibly see some of the people I know now. It is not too realistic to think any of the buildings will still be standing - but anything in life is possible. As this and my remaining weeks pass by, one of my constant thoughts, I am certain, will be how amazing this overall experience has been for us all.
143, Kaesen.
Good night and good day.
