AF Day 197- II

FOB Smart at 1700 - Sunday

Two additional missions completed today, and they were strong missions complete with lots of "excitement" for all. The skies threatened rain all day and even delivered a little during our afternoon mounted combat patrol with a dismounted foot patrol through nearby villages. We had a small key leader engagement (KLE) in one village and were able to observe some local Afghan life slightly removed from the urbanization of Qalat. I had a terrific time!

I have less than 18 days to go... my heart is swelling with love and excitement to see my son again. I imagine this is how most people feel when they are anticipating their R&Rs from here or other areas of the war zone we live in now.

I am hungry! So, this is where I stop writing again...

143, Kaesen.

Good night and good day.
